I have, as early as I can remember, being engaged in the process of making some kind of art. I was lucky to have parents that supported this interest and spent many weekends out with my father on field trips in various parts of NSW drawing anything from run down sheds and historical houses to bushland views and seascapes. it was no surprise to anyone close to me that I would want to spend my first few years out of high school at art school, so I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts At COFA,which was followed shortly followed by a degree in Stage and Costume at NIDA as I really was quite passionate about theatre in my 20's. The realities of surviving this industry financially however became obvious to me after working for several years through to my thirties in Sydney as a designer, concept illustrator and model maker in a very sporadic fashion!  Finally after much soul searching I launched into completing a Diploma of Teaching in Visual Arts which really set me up for later life when i was able to about 7 years ago finance my foray into working as a professional artist- although I still teach on a casual basis today.

I now live on a beautiful property in the lower mountains area of NSW with my talented furniture designer/maker, sculptor husband Darren Oates.
